Amane Takaishi is a native of Tokyo, Amane began her early training with Mitsuyo Kishibe in Japan. She continued her training at Elmhurst School of Ballet in association with Birmingham Royal Ballet and Central School of Ballet in the UK. Amane extended her training through summer intensives at the Royal Ballet School and English National Ballet School in London, UK, and the International Masterclass in Prague, Czech. She received Advanced II with distinction from the Royal Academy of Dance, UK. Amane joined City Ballet of Boston in 2019 after dancing with Eugene Ballet Company, Ballet Tucson and A&A Ballet. Her repertoire includes the Urban Nutcracker (Snow Queen, lead Rox Riff and lead Hoop), Sleeping Beauty (Violent Fairy and Jewels Pas de Toris), George Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht Ballet, Paquita, Raymonda, Carmina Burana, and Great Gatsby. In Boston area, Amane has worked with Gianni Di Marco and Margot Parsons. Additionally, she danced with United Dance, directed by Boris Richir. Also, she is a member of Asian American Ballet Project, founded by Elizabeth Mochizuki. Amane holds BA with honors in Professional Dance and Performing Studies from the University of Kent, UK, and MA in Education (Dance Teaching) from the University of Bath, UK. She is excited to dance with City Ballet of Boston again this season.
